Tasting notes Liberty School 2008 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon ($13 to $15): Produced with fruit from the Hope Family Winery, a former secondary label for Napas Caymus Vineyards, this wine reveals ripe cassis, black cherry, peppery spice, and soft mocha aromas and flavors.
Wild Horse 2007 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon ($17 to $18): Wild Horse was founded in the early 80s by Ken Volk and now is part of the large Constellation Wine portfolio. Soft flavors of blackberries, cocoa and dried herbs complement the slightly rustic tannins in this medium-to-full bodied effort. Goes well with grilled meats or barbecue.
Justin 2009 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon ($23 to $25): This winery also has changed hands, though only recently, with the purchase by the same family that owns the Fiji Water brand. Bright, broad spectrum of black fruit flavors and earthy minerality; good verve and structure to this full-bodied cabernet with a lasting finish.
