Masked Arcata suspect may be linked to other bank robberies
The suspect – described as a white male adult in his 30s, about 5’ 6” tall, medium build, with short brown hair – was last seen running southwest through the alley toward the Ray’s Food Place parking lot at 5000 Valley West Blvd. He was wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a San Francisco Giants baseball cap. A surveillance video released by the Arcata Police Department (APD) shows the man walking through the bank’s door, going straight to a teller’s window and then walking around a woman in the middle of a transaction to speak to the teller. The woman gathers up her bank slips and her purse and moves aside as the man leans over the counter and puts his hand out for the money. The man was wearing a surgical or dust mask, similar to the one worn in a McKinleyville Coast Central Credit Union robbery last month. In the McKinleyville case, a gun was used. The suspect’s description is also similar to the man wanted in several other robberies in Northern California and Southern Oregon, including a Bank of America robbery in Yreka on Thursday, Sept. 1.Credit Unions In Northern Ca - News
