Larson earns top certification
Terri Larson, vice president of lending at Highmark Federal Credit Union, earned the designation of Certified Credit Union Executive through the CUNA Management School. The program involves attending classes for two-week terms over three consecutive summers, completing two written projects and taking three final exams. Larson graduated with honors and received her diploma, issued by the University
of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School of
Business.
Zonta Club names officers
Zonta Club of the Black Hills recently celebrated 60 years of service, receiving an executive proclamation from then-Mayor Alan Hanks, a congratulatory note from Zonta District 12 Gov. Kay Meyer and District 12 board members, and a recognition letter from Zonta International Foundation Director Kathleen Douglass.
The club, a member of Zonta International, is an organization of local businesswomen who work together to advance the status of women worldwide.
Newly elected officers and board members for 2011-12 include President Jan Kirch, Pennington Title Company; President Elect Diane Staeffler, Omni Home Financing; Vice President Kim Jackson, Re/Max of Rapid City; Recording Secretary Liz Benusis, musician; Treasurer DeVee Dietz, Chiesman Center for Democracy; Assistant Treasurer Meals Dorothy Voorhees, First Western Federal Savings Bank; Assistant Treasurer Expo Terri Larson, Highmark Federal Credit Union; and directors Patty Nikkila, KT Connections, Inc.; Audrea Jackson, Black Hills Corp.; Mary Roth, Wilson Park Dental; Peg Seljeskog, Dakotah Steakhouse; Morgan VonHaden, Volunteers of America, Dakotas; and Vicki Farrens, registered nurse.
Severyn receives service honor
Jayme Severyn of Custer received a certificate of appreciation for patriotic civilian service from the South Dakota National Guard. Lt. Col. Dennis Iverson presented Severyn with the award Aug. 24 on behalf of the U.S. Department of the Army and the South Dakota National Guard.
