Community: Recording acoustic guitar (K&K Pure Mini pickup)
Just got the K&K pure mini pickup installed in my Yamaha FG730s. Sounds fantastic after a little EQ and some line 6 preampage. Just wondering what the best strategy is for recording with my setup.
Sould I...
1) Record the raw signal into Reaper, normalize it, and insert the POD Farm Plugin?
2) Run the standalone POD Farm and record the AMP and EQ directly into Reaper?
3) A combination of both?
4) Any other suggestions?
Also, what POD Farm preamp/acoustic amps give the most natural sound for acoustic?

Hi,
The advantages of using the plugin as opposed to the standalone version is that you can change the preamp/model sound at any time while you are recording.
Routing through the standalone version works well too but the affected signal is recorded onto the track, thus whatever model/preamp setting you pick will be permanent.
You could use both at the same time but it would probably use a lot of CPU and you can make as many copies of the track as you would like inside your DAW.
As far as preamp sounds in Pod Farm this is going to depend on your guitar/pickup combination as well as the song so I would pick the settings that you think sound best with your instrument.
