1) Arcane pot works best. it gives you about 60% chance of getting 2 elemental ores, instead of like a 30% chance of getting one from a porclean pot.

Tree Cutting Basics.

Each Tree Cutting has 4 items it can become for any set of crystals fed to it. 1 is junk (little worms / rock salt / shell bugs / etc), 1 is becoming clusters of crystals of the opposite type you fed it (feed ice crystals, get wind clusters), 1 is tree leaves (gold leaves, plat leaves, etc), and the final item is the elemental ore.

The You'll always want to feed the plat two of the same type of crystal. like ice ice, wind wind, I find that has best results (I gardened for over 6 months). The best result I found was trying for ice ore. Here's why.

1) Ice ore Staff + 1 is most expensive staff, and snow rings are reall in demand also.

2) feeding 2 ice crystals gives you either plat leaves, or elemental ore, and plat leaves sell for a very good amount of money (most of any leaves) by jsut selling them to a vender.

3) Porc pots are fire based, and so provide best results when feeding ice crystals.


Also, always always always harvest on darksday, preferably on a new moon, as well. You'll get best results. Try planting on either lights or darksday, then feeding the ice crystals to the plant on iceday and windsday (or both on ice day). Also, try to always feed the ice crstals to the plant on days that are close to the new moon. You can also feed the ice crystals on darksday, as well.

It's been a while since I've done this (close to a year now), but I had 16 characters all with 9 pots 1 arcane, and would make a crapload of money. One time I made close to 3 mil gil from just the plat leaves, and then had ores to sell, too boot.

Typically, on an adverage harvest, I make back the cost of the materials with just the plat leaves themselves, and the ores are pure profit.


And if you have really high goldsmithing (I think it's 100), you can just pump out snow / snow + 1 rings and make an insane killing, or sell them to someone to make ice staves from.
